The N.C. Department of Transportation will host a public input meeting on its $42 million road improvement project along Elizabeth City’s Hughes Boulevard today from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
In monthly meetings with participants, the police chief encourages them to install home security cameras, act as good witnesses and be concerned neighbors.
Around 20 people recently showed up to the third meeting of the restored Elizabeth City Community Watch. Police Chief Phil Webster hopes the numbers continue to grow.
An Elizabeth City teen was out of the hospital Monday night after being injured in a shooting. Police said it happened Sept. 18 at the Walker Landing Apartments.
