TRIBUTES have been paid to a Knighton firefighter who has died following a long cancer battle. Dave Cunnington passed away on Monday, February 22, at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, having battled multiple myeloma for the last seven years. The 56-year-old crew manager has been described as a “highly respected” and “always smiling” crew member at Knighton Fire Station, where he served for an incredible 31 years. Dave leaves behind wife Natalie, daughter Trudi and son Matt. His funeral will be held at St Edwards Church, Knighton, this Thursday, March 11, at 12noon.
