Good morning. A lot of you are dealing with a little bit of misty drizzle this morning. Theres a little bit of patchy fog as well but the big issue is a line of heavy rain. No lightning out of this just yet. We did have some thunderstorms earlier but as you can see, they are plowing down through pottstown, quakertown, coatesville and giving you a brief, maybe 20 minute downpour and then a little bit longer on the backside for just a little bit of additional rain f youre in doylestown, malvern, Flemington New Jersey youll get this probably in the next 10 or 15 minutes and eventually philadelphia might catch a brief look at this as well before we get on the other side of it. After that, its just clouds today and maybe a couple of spotty shower. You can see that counterclockwise rotation. That big issue is the current downpour thats coming through some of our northern and western suburbs. Heres your visibility. These arent all that bad but foggily is showing up in some spots. Rain expected in norristown in just about a minute from now, lenape 5 03, Kennett Square about 5 06 and after that weve got radnor at about 5 15 and then edgemont at 5 16. If i go out wide, you can see that this is also extending up into the northern suburbs visually all of Montgomery County covered by this. This is pushing due east. Theres a little bit more down to the south to the west of New Castle County especially the southern portion of that county. All of this pushing toward the east. It shouldnt be too much longer before its through but for the next hour or so in southeastern pennsylvania and then crossing the river into jersey we have an issue with that. As we take a look at the cloud cover, theres plenty of that out there, too. Does look like its going to wind up being a cloudy bay with additional shower activity later in the afternoon. Lansdale pennsylvania where i used to live 5 41 and ridley park at 5 45 and again this is the approximate time of the heavy rain arriving, some of these spots are already seeing some of the lighter rain and on the other side of that you will see some drying. However, even where this rain is not swiar you have low lying clouds and some drizzle in some spots. And lets go ahead and look at those clouds. Plenty of that today. Does look like were looking at mostly cloudy skies and once we get rid of this rain over the next hour or two, well wind up with some lingering drizzle and eve shower still possible. There is the band of heavy rain popping through from west to east and it looks like this is headed pretty much right now into southwest philadelphia, certainly here at 6abc. Center city in about a minute youll get the heaviest stuff andalusia bridgeport south philadelphia and there you see the live update, south philadelphia probably about nine minutes past the hour and two of these areas in the blue box are already getting rain but its the heaviest rain were tracking and in some cases because of the uneven line its already there.
