Logos inks first Malaysia JV to develop integrated logistics hub

Logo SE Asia s eCommerce Hub in Singapore KUALA LUMPUR: Logo SE Asia Pte Ltd (Logos), a leading logistics real estate specialist in Asia Pacific, has entered into a joint-venture (JV) with a local partner to develop a sustainable integrated logistics, warehousing and e-commerce hub in Shah Alam. The project, to be developed in phases, will cover a total development area of 745,000 square metres (sqm) and gross leasable area of about 505,000 sqm spanning across five warehouse blocks. The JV transaction, brokered by Knight Frank Malaysia (Knight Frank), will be by way of 60 per cent share subscription by Logos in the project special purpose vehicle - Global Vision Logistics Sdn Bhd, which will take up the remaining 40 per cent subscription as well as undertake the development.

Knight Frank Malaysia: Real estate market to remain challenging in first half of 2021

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 18): The anticipated commercial rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine by the first half of 2021 (1H21) will boost the hopes for the country’s economic recovery and lift overall consumer sentiment, said property consultancy Knight Frank Malaysia. Managing director Sarkunan Subramaniam said, however, that due to the current ongoing political uncertainties amid the worsening Covid-19 crisis, the residential market is expected to remain challenging in 1H21. This had led property buyers as well as developers to rethink their future plans and strategies, he said in a statement in conjunction with the launch of its Real Estate Highlights 2nd Half of 2020 research report today.

Heaton-Watson said given the promising vaccine data and change in U.S. executive leadership consumer sentiment is increasing as evidenced by recent transactional data. Buying opportunity is present, he said, adding that the US$1 million to US$3 million core segment of the market, has held strong.
