The San Antonio River Authority hopes to begin construction this summer on a “hybrid design” for a community plaza at an archaeological site whose discovery last year caused an 18-month delay in work on the San Pedro Creek Culture Park.
The public has indicated “an overwhelming desire to have the plaza and to be able to interpret the site actively with art and events and storytelling,” said Steve Graham, assistant general manager at the river authority.
