The Lincoln Blue Tigers will have several athletes in action at the NCAA Division II outdoor track and field national championships, which begin today and continue through Saturday at Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich. Heading into the national championships, both Lincoln teams are ranked in the top 10 in Division II by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The men are ranked No. 7 and the women are ranked No. 8.
The Lincoln Blue Tigers won a total of nine events at the MIAA outdoor track and field championships, a three-day event that concluded Sunday at Emporia State. The men finished third out of 10 teams with 96 points, while the women also placed third out of 12 teams with 93 points in the final standings. The Lincoln women won five conference titles and the men won four.

The Lincoln Blue Tigers claimed 18 event wins, nine by the men and nine by the women, during Saturday’s Lincoln Open at Dwight T. Reed Stadium. The Lincoln women cruised to a team title with 162 points. Central Methodist finished a distant second with 122 points. The Lincoln men recorded 182 points in their team win, while Missouri S&T was runner-up with 170 points.
