Report from RNZ Four Wellington city councillors are opposed to a proposal to lift rates by almost 16 percent next year, saying it has come completely out of the blue. The city council has already consulted on a rise of 13.53 percent as part of its long-term plan, but extra costs were added on Friday, lifting the proposed increase to 15.99 percent.
