Apr 23, 2021 CHILDREN TO GET MODIFIED TOY CARS: Dozens of volunteers will come together from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road, Canfield, to modify ride-on toy cars for 22 children with mobility impairments. Volunteer electricians will modify the wiring, while volunteer adaptive technology professionals and physical and occupational therapists will help with seating modifications. Students from MCCTC are designing “license plates” and decals and helping to assemble the cars. This is the sixth year of modifying cars. This year’s event is sponsored by Go Baby Go Youngstown, the Magic of Michael Foundation and the Hirschbeck Family.

FRUIT TREE PRUNING: Learn how to prune apple and peach trees with Mahoning County OSU Extension and White House Fruit Farms, at noon (Zoom and in-person available) and 2 p.m. (in-person only), on Saturday at White House Fruit Farms, 9249 Youngstown-Salem Road, Canfield. Pruning is important to the success of fruit trees, and knowing how to properly prune can aid in the success of future crops. Demonstrations will be done by Eric Barrett, OSU Extension educator, and Dave and David Hull from White House Fruit Farms.

The seeing eye Apr 2, 2021 DRIVE-BY BUNNY EVENT: An Easter Bunny drive-by will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at 118 S. Osborn St., Youngstown. People can drive by and have pictures taken with the Easter Bunny. Treat bags will be available until they run out. MEET THE EASTER BUNNY: A Meet the Easter Bunny event will be 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Hubbard Schools campus, 350 Hall Ave. SE, Hubbard. Meet the Hubbard Eagles mascot, the Junior Eagle, the Hubbard High school band and the Easter Bunny. DOGGY EASTER EVENT: A doggy Easter egg hunt will be at Healthy Hearts and Paws Project, 384 Collar Price Road, Brookfield, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. HHPP volunteers will hide more than 500 doggy treats with a corresponding plastic egg nearby. The winner will be featured on the HHPP page and receive a free HHPP T-shirt.
