That training, that takes about three hours weekly, may help people have less muscle stiffness and pain, and improve their balance and capacity for motion. People at all stages of Parkinson’s disease, or PD, may benefit. The motions and principles in boxing train the brain into better balance and coordination. Work in the pool helps some patients immensely.

SERVICE CIRCUIT: Macomb service clubs adapt as pandemic continues

The Salvation Army hires people to be bell-ringers, and that helps give them seasonal employment, but service clubs, like Kiwanis and Rotary, send their volunteers to the red kettles. Bell-ringers for the Mount Clemens Salvation Army are the New Baltimore Lions Club, the Mount Clemens Lions Club, the Mount Clemens Kiwanis Club, and the Mount Clemens Rotary Club. Bell ringers for the Salvation Army Warren Corps Community Center include the Kiwanis Club of Warren and the Rotary Club of Warren. The Bill Wright family of daughters and granddaughters, pictured here, represented the Warren Kiwanis,  Many club members collected over several weeks.
