Kitsap-area school districts formulating plans for high school graduation

Graduation is a day Bremerton High School Principal Monica Zuber enjoys more than any other: Watching students don caps and gowns as they conclude one chapter of life and contemplate what’s next.
“It’s my favorite day of the year,” Zuber said. “It reminds us why we do what we do, when you see young people you’ve worked with for four years walk across the stage to get their diploma.”
School districts in Kitsap and Mason counties are in the process of figuring out exactly how graduation ceremonies will play out next month, ever mindful of COVID-19 restrictions that limit the size of public gatherings. Unlike 2020, when districts were reduced to holding on-campus, drive-thru events, schools are preparing for the return of more traditional ceremonies next month.
