The health department says it was notified by state health officials on Friday they would not receive requested COVID-19 vaccines for the week of Feb. 7-13. Several healthcare providers in the county were also told they would not receive COVID-19 vaccines for next week, public health says. The Washington Department of Health says more than 600 facilities requested over 358,000 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine this week, however the state was only able to get 107,125 doses from the federal government.

BREMERTON The community vaccine clinic at the former St. Michael Medical Center in Bremerton did not receive any vaccine doses from the state Department of Health and will not reopen this week, Kitsap Public Health announced Friday.  The clinic, established by Kitsap Public Health and the county’s Emergency Operations Center, opened Tuesday through Thursday last week and provided 2,000 doses to people eligible under the state’s guidelines. BREMERTON  Appointment slots for Kitsap County’s first community COVID-19 vaccination clinic were filled Monday morning in a matter of minutes with residents eager to receive one of a limited supply of shots. In a statement Monday, the Kitsap Public Health District said there was “overwhelming demand” among older people and others eligible for the new community vaccination site, which will operate Tuesday through Thursday at the old St. Michael Medical Center in East Bremerton.
