Winners of this year s Property Brokers Tararua Sheep and Beef Farm Business of the Year, Shaun and Fiona Fouhy, held their field day at Glanworth on Thursday, May 6.
The winner of the Tararua Shepherd of the Year was announced, with Kit Holmes emerging the winner. Kit s enthusiasm is infectious. She was originally from England, with no connection to agriculture. She enrolled at a course at Taratahi and has since held numerous roles in shepherding, said organising committee member from ANZ Bank, Sally Terry.

Dannevirke Young Farmers chairwoman Kit Holmes says the group is committed to holding a fundraiser for the trust once a year. A few of our members have suffered mental health issues so we feel it s important to give something back to the trust.
hours. the conversation turns dark when holmes suffers from depression after breaking up with his girlfriend months before the shooting in 2012. did you hurt about hurting yourself or killing yourself? no. killing other people? yeah. the doctor concluded that holmes knew right before wrong and he was sane when he killed 12 and injured 70 others. prosecutors say he planned and detailed his actions in his journal. did he discuss having a desire to kill people? yes, he does. holmes sent the notebook to a psychiatrist at the university of colorado before the shooting. but it was discovered too late. in it holmes writes the obsession to kill since i was a kid with age became more and more realistic. and he details different ways to carry out an attack.
officers read passages from the notebook holmes mailed to his psychiatrist the day of the shooting. in it holmes describes his dedication to killing others so that i could live. the notebook had been the subject of a long court battle over whether the jury should see it. holmes has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. taco bell and pizza hut plan to get rid of artificial ingredients in their food becoming part of the growing list of places like chipotle and panera who have decided to serve healthier products. pizza hut plans to stop the use of preservatives, artificial colors and flavors and remove transfats from their products starting in july. taco bell is expected to make the same move by the end of 2017. the two chains both owned by yum brands. still ahead, another setback in the courts for president obama s executive actions on immigration. so what s next? we ll break that down for you. plus, the waters are receding here in texas but more rain is
