Late in the 2022 season, Cap Henry lost his sprint car ride. The Republic, Ohio driver didn’t know what the future might hold, but a conversation with Jeff Ward of Sandusky, who put together a team a couple of years ago, gave him new life in racing.
Fremont Speedway will put a wrap to the 70th anniversary season by handing out point fund money and awards at an informal gathering Sunday, Nov. 28 at the Flower Building in the Sandusky County Fairgrounds.

The Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints put on two fantastic features – a make-up from the Pub 400 Night season opener and the regular night’s feature at Fremont Speedway May 22. Elmore’s Alvin Roepke was in the running to win both races, but after getting nipped in the first, he took the second. In the make-up feature Fremont’s Dustin Stroup took advantage of a little mistake from race-long leader Logan Riehl to grab the lead on lap 18 and held off Roepke on a restart with just three laps to go to earn his third victory of the season and fifth career win.
