GAO announces new MACPAC members

May 04, 2021 - 03:24 PM The Government Accountability Office yesterday named five new members to the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission, which advises Congress on issues affecting Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.  The new members are Bob Duncan, executive vice president of Children’s Wisconsin, a Milwaukee-based pediatric health care system; Heidi Allen, an associate professor at Columbia University School of Social Work; Laura Herrera Scott, M.D., vice president of clinical strategy and product for Anthem; Verlon Johnson, senior vice president of corporate strategy for health information technology firm CNSI; and Dennis Heaphy, co-founder of Disability Advocates Advancing Our Healthcare Rights.

MUNCIE In an effort to spread holiday cheer after everything that has transpired throughout the year, several local organizations teamed up to ensure that 20 Muncie families got to celebrate Christmas with gifts. “Children in the care of seven local daycare centers had wish lists full of items they would like for Christmas. We wanted to make that happen for them, NAACP Muncie Branch Vice President George Foley said in a release.

Several local organizations have teamed up to make ensure that twenty Muncie families celebrate Christmas with gifts. Families at seven local Daycare Centers received some Christmas cheer.  NAACP Muncie Branch vice president, George Foley said, “Children in the care of seven local daycare centers had wish lists full of items they would like for Christmas. We wanted to make that happen for them.” The Muncie Delaware County Black Chamber of Commerce, Indiana Black Expo Muncie Chapter, Muncie Branch NAACP, and Forward Vision have partnered to help provide those gifts.
