Concerns have been raised about the lack of coronavirus vaccine centres in northern parts of Suffolk.
The majority of Suffolk s existing vaccine sites are in the south of the county, causing fears about how elderly populations in more rural northern parts will be catered for.
Currently, those living in the Waveney area can be vaccinated at some GP sites including Kirkley Mill Surgery in Lowestoft and Sole Bay Health Centre in Southwold.
The community pharmacy Hayden Chemist, in Lowestoft, and the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston are also vaccinating patients.

This has really helped make things run smoothly for the vaccination roll out.
“I’d also like to thank the wonderful volunteer stewards who have helped people with parking and signposting – it’s been a real team effort and we’re looking forward to helping to protect many more people from COVID-19 over the coming months.”

With Hayden Chemist now offering the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, after the opening day pharmacist Sunny Dhanoa - co-owner of the Hayden Chemists Group - said: “Today marks the first day for us where we can actively contribute to the fight against this pandemic and support the most vulnerable in our community.

Community groups, clinicians and volunteers have been praised for their efforts alongside GP practices and staff as the coronavirus vaccine rollout continues in a coastal town.
With tens of thousands of residents having been vaccinated across Norfolk and Waveney, new cohorts of people in the next priority groups will be vaccinated in the Lowestoft area from next week.
It comes as the Covid-19 vaccination programme in the Lowestoft area is going well with most of the people aged over 80, residents in care homes, care home workers and vulnerable NHS staff having received vaccinations since mid-December.
