COVID-19’s impact on education across Licking County has been profound, driving technical innovations for virtual learning and often placing more weight on parents to directly participate in their child’s education.
But there is an extra layer of challenge for school districts in western Licking County – the portion of the county that demographically documents its most populous racial diversity.
The Advocate recently reached out to Southwest Licking and Licking Heights school district officials to discuss their strategies for meeting these educational challenges.

There are more than two-dozen languages spoken within both the Licking Heights and the Southwest Licking school districts.
