A buyer is being sought for a £250m hydro energy scheme at a former opencast coal mine in the south of Scotland.
Owners Buccleuch said much of the background work had been carried out and they were now seeking a buyer.
The scheme would require hundreds of workers during construction then create up to 15 long-term jobs.

The Pumped Storage Hydro (PSH) project was approved in November 2016.
PSH works by releasing water from a higher waterbody to a lower one, passing it through one or more turbines to generate electricity.

A loving husband and father who excelled in sports sadly passed away last month. On February 20, 2021 George Jaworski, an adored husband and father of two passed away at the age of 79 in the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. His sudden passing has left a hole in the lives of all who knew and loved him. George was born in the village of Kirkconnel in the Scottish Borders, before moving to Ambleside in the early 1950s, where he would live for the next 70 years. Joining the Freshwater Biological Society in 1958, George would spending his entire 35 year career working as an Algologist at Ferry House on Lake Windermere.
