Cenalta Token, a winner in the first two California Sire Stakes legs for the four-year-old pacing mares at the Cal Expo meet, and Made Of Misschief, winner in the most recent leg, get another chance to settle the score in Friday night’s featured $20,000 USD California Sire Stakes.
Rockin With Lou, fresh from her upset win in last week’s Kirk Breed Pace, looks to close out the Cal Expo meet in style in Sunday’s featured $7,200 Filly and Mare Open Pace.
The main event is slated as the fifth on a nine-race card with first post at 5:25 p.m. The program will bring the Watch and Wager LLC meeting to an end with mandatory payouts for all wagers.
Rockin With Lou is a four-year-old daughter of Sweet Lou and the Rocknroll Hanover mare Ram Rocker who is owned, trained and driven by Gerry Longo. She is gunning for her 10th win from 28 lifetime trips to the post.
The $10,000 Kirk Breed Pace, featuring a very contentious cast of pacing fillies and mares, and a pair of California Sire Stakes for the distaff set highlight Saturday evening’s (April 17) Cal-Expo action.
Watch and Wager LLC will present 12 races, and things will get started at 5:54 p.m. PT. The Kirk Breed will go as the eighth race, the $15,000 California Sire Stakes for sophomore fillies is set as the third event, and the $7,000 Sire Stakes for four-year-old mares goes as the sixth contest.
Delightfully Wild, a 9-1 upsetter in last week’s Bill Vallandingham Memorial, looks to add to her strong resume at what figures to be shorter odds in the Kirk Breed as she leaves from the rail slot in a field of seven.
