The Soraya Celebrates 10th Anniversary, Reopening with 5 Free Concerts

The Soraya, located at the California State University, Northridge campus, announced it is celebrating both its 10th Anniversary and its reopening with a special gift of five free concerts to welcome back and thank its loyal audience.
These concerts will be presented throughout the fall season and feature the Saturday, Oct. 16 Opening Night with Afro Latin Jazz master Arturo O’Farrill, the L.A. Philharmonic’s Conductor Laureate Esa-Pekka Salonen leading the Colburn School Orchestra, Christmas in Vienna with the legendary Vienna Boys Choir and the annual holiday celebration Nochebuena with Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles and Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéller.

The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra has unveiled another ambitious season of live-streamed concerts and a return to symphonic touring this autumn. The world-renowned BSO will tour symphonic performances and continue its series of On Your Doorstep’ chamber-scale performances across the south west. Among the many anticipated highlights will be Brahms Violin Concerto, Shostakovich Piano Concerto No.2, Sibelius Symphony No 1, The Armed Man by Sir Karl Jenkins, Beethoven s Symphony No 7 and Grieg s Piano Concerto. Three new works written by women will feature in the 2021/22 concert year including Carmen Ho’s new work, commissioned by the BSO and receiving its world premiere under the baton of Kirill Karabits in Poole in November.
