Lafayette Parish Police Chief Says Doctors Saved His Life
Duson police chief Kip Judice is preparing for surgery after he suffered a near-death experience over the weekend.
According to a post on his Facebook page, Judice suffered an acute respiratory attack on Saturday. His family rushed him to the emergency room, where Judice says doctors saved his life. Judice says when he arrived at the emergency room, his oxygen levels were at 65 percent. Judice also said a doctor described him as looking like grey death.
Judice says doctors found a polyp on his vocal cord. According to Judice, doctors told them the polyp got stuck in his airway while he was breathing. Judice is scheduled to undergo surgery on Monday to remove that polyp.

A birthday parade is being held Saturday for a citizen of Duson.
Duson Police are escorting a parade from the Duson Park to the home of Louella Mouton, who is celebrating her 90th birthday.
Mouton sat with her family outside of her home in a special chair as loved ones and members of the community drove by to wish her a Happy Birthday.
Police Chief Kip Judice said Mouton is one of Duson s proudest and oldest citizens.

Duson Police Chief Kip Judice was rushed to the hospital yesterday, where doctors saved his life, according to a social media post by his family. On Saturday April 3rd , Our dad, Kip Judice suddenly suffered an acute respiratory attack which completely shut down his airway. He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes ER, Scott where the amazing Dr. Odinet and staff literally saved his life, the post reads. Special thanks goes to security staff, Lane Leblanc. Once stabilized, Kip was transferred to Lady of Lourdes Main Campus ICU. Once again, the amazing nurses, doctors and staff cared very well for him throughout the night.
Duson Police recover stolen trailer, identify suspects in theft

Duson Police have identified suspects involved in the theft of a camper.
Police chief Kip Judice said Tuesday night that officers have recovered the camper. Arrests in the case are pending.
The bumper-pull Jay Feather Camper was stolen from 8827 Cameron Street on February 22 at about 4 a.m.
The camper was captured on surveillance cameras being pulled north on Richfield from Anderson.
The suspect vehicle was captured on surveillance and appears to be a green Dodge Pickup truck that was occupied by two white males.
