KINGSTON – City buildings and services are to start reopening in the coming days.
The Ontario government is to launch phase one of its reopening plan on Friday and in the days following city facilities and services are to be reopened.

As of Friday, up to 10 people are to be allowed to gather in outdoor settings, including parks and other city sites that are set to reopen, including the tables and chairs in Springer Market Square and the Gord Downie Pier and the beach in Breakwater Park.
City services to reopen as of June 11 under Step 1 of Provincial reopening plan

In accordance with the Step 1 reopening phase of the Province of Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen, effective Friday, June 11 at 12:01 a.m., additional City services, facilities and amenities will be reopening over the coming days.
The focus of Step 1 is on resuming outdoor activities with smaller crowds, where the risk of transmission is lower. Review the list below, refer to the City’s COVID-19 page, and sign up for the City’s COVID-19 bulletin for complete reopening details. Any person who enters a City facility or uses a recreational amenity must maintain a 2-metre physical distance from others (excluding members of the same household and/or family).
Victoria Day holiday to affect City and Utilities Kingston schedules

City of Kingston and Utilities Kingston schedules will change due to the Victoria Day holiday.
The City’s Victoria Day festivities, including the fireworks, are cancelled again this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
City and Utilities Kingston Holiday Schedules
Garbage, Green Bin and recycling: There is no collection on Monday. Collection occurs the day after your regular collection day. Sign-up to receive collection reminders by phone, text or email at www.CityofKingston.ca/collection.
Kingston Transit: Bus service will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday. Please see www.CityofKingston.ca/busdetours for COVID-19-related service changes.
