Three students from greater Riverdale were marked with outstanding academic achievements from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, as first and second honors.
Three men and one woman attacked the teens, 13, 14 and 15, on Independence Avenue near West 237th Street in Riverdale around 3 p.m. Sept. 26, police said.

I moved to Riverdale 45 years ago so that my children could attend great schools. My two daughters attended P.S. 81 and then Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy and they received phenomenal educations.

If one drives or takes the (detoured) Bx10 bus past Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy, one sees large, colorful and tastefully designed banners with nicely rendered tigers’ heads and slogans like “Home of the Tigers,” “Tiger Pride,” “Tigers Together, Tigers Forever,” “Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger,” etc.

The recent story detailing the rising incidents of fighting among students at Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy is alarming.
Even worse is the need for the principal to warn parents and students against bringing guns, knives and other weapons into the school.
