Curfew in waverly has been lifted residents are also asked to stay at their residences, as First Responders are going doortodoor overnight to make certain all residents are accounted for. Town and county residents are asked to avoid travel overnight due to debris and downed trees in the roadways. Previously reported at approximately 2 40 p. M. , Virginia State police began responding to incidents of severe storm damage in the town of waverly along route 40. A 50yearold male, 26yearold male and 2 yearold male were killed when their mobile home was destroyed in the storm. All three were yards from the mobile home. The bodies were transported to the office of the medical examiner in norfolk for positive identification. State police are still working on next of kin notifications no names

Nats fire chief a 911 call was received around 330 this afternoon that there was a fire at the old dan river plant, Randall Johnson is the fire marshall for campbell county. He says there are about 7590 firefighters on scene battling the flames. Johnson says this fire is unusual because of how massive it is, its engulfing the 355 thousand square foot facility. The biggest challenge to fight the fire getting resources like water to put it out. Randall johnson campbe ll county fire chief because we are limited to hydrants there are none in the factory in a proper it itself and also in the beginning we had several small spot fires that started in the grass surrounding the plant that we had to deal with, johnson says right now he feels there arent any toxic chemicals in the former site.
