Row over bill payment in Bengaluru: Customers abused, assaulted at dhaba for not carrying cash

The scuffle took place between the customers and the owner of the Kings Court Dhaba on 80 Feet Road, Girinagar. The dhaba owner and his employees allegedly hurled abuses at the customers for not carrying cash and even assaulted them.

When the bill arrives, Pradeep tried to pay it using his digital wallet but failed due to server issues. Pradeep requested the waiter to bring a card swiping machine, to which he replied that they don’t have any Point-Of-Sale (POS) machines at the dhaba. The bearer asked him to make the payment in cash and directed him to an ATM. The staff also asked him to leave his phone, for security reasons. Seeing no other way, Pradeep asked his friend to withdraw the money while he waited.
