STAFF at a popular Somerset Waterpark are celebrating after they won a prestigious award. Brean Splash Waterpark was awarded a Gold Standard award for Energy Efficiency and EcoPool project of the year at the 2020 UK Pool and Spa awards. In December 2019 the park installed 900 solar panels on its roof. This is used in combination with their biomass heating to provide off- grid electricity to keep their pools and surroundings at a perfect temperature for our swimmers. From 2018 to 2019 the two off grid energy sources produced over 600,000kW of renewable energy which prevented 130 tonnes of carbon being released into the atmosphere.
