Peace is a running theme throughout the whole of scripture, usually using the Hebrew word shalom. Scripture, however, doesn’t throw the word around as a nice gesture. It has a deep meaning which could radically shift everything we know.
<p>The Bible makes a difference between our plans and God’s purposes, telling us not to boast about tomorrow (<a href="https://www.biblestudytools.com/proverbs/27-1.html">Proverbs 27:1</a>). Therefore, God must teach us a whole new way of living.<a href="https://www.biblestudytools.com/james/passage/?q=james+4:13-17"></a><br></p>
<p>God calls us to do certain things, but he wants us to obey from love rather than obligation. That’s why the apostle Paul writes that God loves a cheerful giver.</p>
