UK Defence Intelligence has assessed that Russia has suffered some of its worst losses of 2023 near Avdiivka, and it appears that Russian command's requests are once again at odds with actual military capabilities.
UK intelligence has estimated that Russia's losses in terms of killed and seriously wounded soldiers amount to up to 190,000, and up to 290,000 including the wounded who are able to return to the battlefield after recovery.
UK intelligence believes that the Kerch Bridge, although restored after damage, will be limited in providing Russian transport to occupied Crimea and will also require significant Russian resources to protect against new attacks.
UK Defence Intelligence has noted that the Russian occupying forces have stepped up their offensive activity in the Kupiansk-Lyman area over the past two weeks. However, a substantial operational breakthrough by the Russian army is unlikely.
