Nate Diaz’s return to the octagon touched off another Twitter fight with his longtime rival Conor McGregor as the two argued in an expletive-filled conversation on Wednesday.
After Diaz booked an unusual five-round co-main event against Leon Edwards, McGregor touted his trip to welterweight for his first fight with the Stockton, Calif., native. That sparked a back-and-forth as the two argued over their records, who the real king of MMA is, and who scared Khabib Nurmagomedov more.

As evidenced again by Dustin Poirier passing on a lightweight title bout for a trilogy with Conor McGregor, fights and especially wins against the Irish superstar are typically more lucrative than winning the actual UFC belt.
The former two-division champion himself knows this, and he has again asked the UFC to create a McGregor belt for the Poirier bout.
“I feel it’s time to break out this baby for the next fight. I ask the UFC to please create The McGregor belt. I suggest rose gold and rubies. Think patek rare,” McGregor wrote on Twitter. “Or yellow gold and emeralds possibly. Might be nice also. I’m open to design suggestions. Let’s link up @ufc”
