The venue is playing host to Our Kinda Country, an annual fundraiser for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
Organisers have promised this year’s festivities will be ‘twice as special’ having had to cancel proceedings last year due to COVID-19.
“This year’s event is two years in the making,” spokesperson Dawn O’Connell said.
“We’re looking forward to an absolutely huge day.
“This is our 10th edition and we’ve raised more than $25,000 for the Royal Exchange Hotel’s Cork Club, which raises money for the annual Good Friday Appeal.”
Stalwart Hugh Bourn died peacefully at home on March 24 after a two decade battle with ataxia. Hugh was born in Rye, Sussex, in 1941. Growing up, he developed an interest in building boats. Hugh Bourn in his younger days During the 1960s, he became serious about sailing and built eight 505-class dinghies over the next decade. He went on to win a number of prestigious competitions, including the European Championship in Denmark in 1971, the National Championships in Torquay, Plymouth, Hayling Island and Brixham, and the 505 Inland Championships in Burnham.
