You got that fire that started already and weve got a significant wind event coming to the bay area in fact red flag warnings going up across the entire bay area as we look toward the weekend were going to see these winds really begin to pick up so weve had some breeze out there today a little bit of more of an on shore flow out there some westerly winds thats all going to change over the weekend going to see more of a northerly wind so yeah, a lot of the hills have been talking about red flag warnings as of sunday into monday were talking red flag warnings for the entire bay area with some of those gusts. Maybe 6070 Miles Per Hour the peak. So that is a major concern a fire now burning in the north bay wind right now out of the west you can see that sea breeze kind of kicking in and as we head through the day tomorrow, well start out fairly calm then we get toward the afternoon. Those winds start to pick up again and they start to get on
L a new fire in fact those fires you can tell that the brush there was already set ready to go so youre in very active fire region and now weve got another fire burning. And weve got some very strong winds coming on the way. Winds right now weve seen of the 1618 Miles Per Hour in fire certainly enough to move that fire long. But thats not what were most concerned about is the winds that will likely take place this weekend, red flag warnings are going up for the entire bay area over the weekend expecting some 4050 mile an hour gusts, even down in the valley floors were going to see some very gusty winds extremely low humidity maybe even some places less than 10 and over the mountain tops maybe some 6070 mile an hour winds. So here we go put this into motion now as we take in tomorrow morning, not bad just an easy breeze. Now the west generally but then things begin to start to shift gears we start to see things pick up and by the afternoon and evening tomorrow, those winds start to pick
Red flag warning is set to go into effect later this weekend to parts of the bay area are bracing for what is expected to be the strongest wind event of the year. Lets go to chief meteorologist Lawrence Karnow who is tracking the dangerous fire conditions certainly dont like to see an active fire were forecasting a potentially some of the strongest winds. Weve seen in quite some time at least this year maybe even longer, but certainly a possibility some firestorm events we continue to see this but. We saw as high as 80 Miles Per Hour this afternoon now to 8 to 10 Miles Per Hour. So just some light winds blowing now on likely going to see those winds pick up a more out of a westerly wind as we head toward tomorrow, but.
