Nearly two years after Kimberly Pero’s left leg was amputated due to a suspected drunk driver, the defendant was finally sentenced this week in Maricopa County.
They first bonded over their fight for justice, as the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office had not yet filed charges against the men accused of hitting them.
That’s 627 cases that are handled by 15 attorneys in MCAO’s Vehicular Crimes Bureau, where six specialized attorneys take on serious cases, such as felony DUIs.
