The popular SoulCycle is returning to Royal Poinciana Plaza this season, but with a pandemic-influenced twist.
The spin studio will be set up outside on the lawn east of the vacant Royal Poinciana Playhouse, where stationary riders will wear headphones to hear the instructor and shield shoppers from the high-energy music played during classes.
Town Council members approved the outdoor venue Tuesday – a necessary vote as the exercise classes differ from a previous town deviation that allowed for more outdoor restaurant seating and retail displays to help businesses deal with COVID-19 restrictions.
Classes will begin Dec. 23. Each 45-minute class costs $36, and there will generally be four classes per day.
