A rally at Huston-Tillotson University on Thursday calling for a continued fight for social justice in Austin started with a modest crowd about a hundred people but ended with a bit of flare, as the dozens of people gathered at the event marched down Seventh Street to go vote.
The event, organized by the Austin Justice Coalition, featured guest speakers who both celebrated the guilty verdict in the Derek Chauvin murder trial, but also pointed to the need to fight systemic racism and inequalities experienced by people of color and other oppressed communities.
