A resolution was finally made between Jefferson County Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr. and Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson to quell the food insecurity at the county jail that Woods has repeatedly blamed on the lack of sufficiently appropriated funding for the 2022 budget.
A disagreement between Sheriff Lafayette Woods, Jr. and County Judge Gerald Robinson spilled over into the Quorum Court meeting on Monday with both men showing their impatience with the other.
A lawsuit filed against County Judge Gerald Robinson and most of the justices of the peace alleging they failed to comply with a Freedom of Information request for documents was won by the plaintiff, Kimberly Dale, after special Judge Bentley E. Story ruled in her favor.
One by one, each justice of the peace in attendance took the stand Friday, beginning with Glenda Daniels, who said she did receive a Freedom of Information Act request but didn’t have the requested documents.
