Manatee County commissioners laid out plans Tuesday for vetting and hiring an interim county administrator, and froze hiring of high-level positions for 30 days.
The county started accepting applications for the interim county administrator role on March 5. Since then the human resources department has received about 11 applications as of Tuesday afternoon.
“We got flooded over the weekend,” HR Director Kim Stroud said. “The posting went up on Friday and we got about 11 applications over the weekend and we are getting some today.”
The deadline to apply for the interim administrator position is March 19 at 5 p.m.
After that, Stroud will prepare a list of applicants for commissioners to review. Each commissioner will then email Stroud with a list of their top 3 applicants to help her prepare for a public discussion on March 23.
