Turkish capital Ankara is set to host the season finale of the
International Modern Pentathlon Union Pentathlon World Cup before
staging a two-day test event for obstacle racing as the sport’s new
fifth discipline to replace riding.
International Equestrian Federation President Ingmar De Vos has
insisted that any inclusion of riding in modern pentathlon should be
in accordance with its "standards and rules and regulations".
Ankara is poised to stage the final leg of the International Modern
Pentathlon Union Pentathlon World Cup prior to the season finale last
this month, which is also due to be held in the Turkish capital.
International Equestrian Federation President Ingmar De Vos has
expressed hope that a new Commission established to develop a
framework addressing concerns related to the use of horses will
"redefine this unique and natural relationship between the human and
the horse".
