South Korean President Appoints New Interior, Health Ministers In Cabinet Reshuffling
The National Assembly of South Korea has received reports on the results of the two candidates confirmation hearings, executive office Cheong Wa Dae announced.
South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in has appointed Jeon Hae-Cheol of the ruling Democratic Party as the country s new Minister of Interior and Safety and Kwon Deok-Cheol as the new minister for Korea Health Industry Development Institute. According to sources of ANI, Jae-in told the parliament that the two ministers had successfully passed the hearings which confirmed their candidacies. The South Korean President allocated the positions to the new ministers as a part of the planned cabinet reshuffle.

Bank of Korea Governor Lee Ju-yeol made it clear that the recent spike in jeonse prices stems from a supply-demand mismatch in the market, squarely rebutting the claim made by the land minister and ruling party lawmakers who say the record-low interest rate was the chief culprit.
Lee s remarks brought to the fore a decades-long issue whereby policymakers and lawmakers point to low interest rates as the driver of housing price spikes, in what the central bank considers an irresponsible attempt to divert criticism for policy failures.
