A second Woolwich business selling marijuana products for recreational use moved closer to approval after the select board tentatively set a required public hearing. Selectmen told Jan Martin of Boothbay they would hold the hearing Wednesday, March.
Woolwich’s annual town meeting was tentatively set Jan. 18 for 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 26. Before finalizing the date, the select board needs to confirm Woolwich Central School’s gymnasium is available. The board will begin work on the 2023-24.
The Woolwich select board has entered into a contract with Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department to provide a shellfish warden. The contract begins Nov. 15 and remains in effect until June 30, 2023; either party can terminate the agreement with 60.
