Every year, the Super Bowl brings the best of the best when it comes to commercials and 2021 is no exception.
Even before the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs take the field, several brands released teasers and some even dropped full clips! of their Super Bowl ads. And like in the past, many of the high-priced TV spots feature celebrity cameos.

Also starring Winona Ryder – reprising her role as Kim Boggs from the 1990 film – the advert sees Chalamet reimagine what life would be like for Edward Scissorhands in 2021. Specifically, the
Call Me By Your Name actor is cast in the role of Edgar Scissorhands (Edward’s son who has, inexplicably, inherited his father’s scissors-for-hands).

Lord of the Rings for AT&T, and Ryan Reynolds teaming up with Diddy and David Beckham for their various alcohol brands. The latest ad for the All-Electric Cadillac LYRIQ involves a team-up we never expected. Winona Ryder reprises her role as Kim Boggs from the 1990 classic Edward
Scissorhands. However, instead of Johnny Depp playing the titular character, Kim chronicles the life of their son, Edgar, who is played by Timothée Chalamet.
The Super Bowl is the season-ending championship game of football in the USA. It’s a mixture of sports and entertainment that’s hard to beat, with the famous “halftime show” rivaling most live concerts (Prince’s performance at Super Bowl XLI a particular highlight).
Unsurprisingly, it’s also one of the most-watched single sporting events globally, and nearly a third of the USA tunes in on the day. That also makes it an advertising Holy Grail; with all those eyes on screens throughout the four-hour-plus show, companies will pay huge sums to get their commercials on air. One 30-second slot is reportedly worth $5.5m, and for those who have the ad budget, it’s a must.
