Reviewing the school budget and getting appointed instead of elected are among Wiscasset’s budget committee’s ideas for itself. Chair Tom Joyce has given a list to selectmen. It will be a topic the next time the selectboard and budget committee meet.
Wiscasset Middle High School Principal Gina Stevens was placed on leave and faces possible firing after she was accused of several transgressions, including authorizing the installation of a hidden camera and mistreating students and staff.

Wiscasset Superintendent of Schools Kim Andersson confirmed via email Tuesday evening, Nov. 28, the dismissal hearing on Gina Stevens is Dec. 12, time and place still to be set. Asked the date, time and place, Andersson said the hearing is Dec. 12.
Wiscasset Selectmen’s Chair Sarah Whitfield wants board representation at Alternative Organizational Structure (AOS) 98’s long range planning committee meetings. In a selectmen’s meeting Nov. 21, Whitfield said she was not happy to learn other towns.
