administration, as he said in a speech recently, there were three words that characterized the goal of his administration, jobs jobs jobs. he got it right. if this economy picks up, if we take the trump rally on the stock market and we turn it into a trump reality in the economy, he s going to do very very well and he s going to win a big victory in 2018 in the senate and then he s going to win reelection in 2020. if he doesn t do that, if we don t have a real focus on economic opportunity, then i think we ll be in trouble. but everything i m seeing with, the kind of cabinet he s creating, the things they re looking at for deregulation, the approach they re taking with paul ryan and with the ways and means committee, all of those things to me say that he knows he s got to pass a tax bill that s very projobs. he s got to eliminate a lot of the regulation that s killing jobs. that s got hb his number one focus. number one, i think he has to
he sent a letter to the epa on his official letterhead that was written by an oil and gas company. and he was confronted by that, he was proud of it. he said, i agree with them. we need to return environmental regulations to the states. how is he going to go before committee, conservatives and republicans, environmentalists and skeptics and say he wants to run an agency whose job it is to protect the environment. will they ask him, how are you going to protect the environment? i m going to make sure we don t. is that what he s going to say? i think he might be further, but he s indicative of where the environmental protection agency is in general, is that they ve gone way too far. they used to believe in it. but now they say it s overstepped its bond, hurting the economy, killing jobs. you know, the problems that they needed to be taken care of have been have been taken care of. so i don t think he s going to encounter much opposition. you only need three republicans to join de
implemented. that is stifling development, killing jobs. it is doing a lot of bad things in my district where we have many people who do work in that industry. so the fact that we re able to get a moratorium on the medical device tax is a huge win for us. think about it. i mean, now we can spend the next two years trying to drive a stake through its heart and eliminate that tax once and for all. on the cadillac tax, that s not been implemented. it will be in 2018, now pushed back to 2020. that is enormously complex, creating enormous hardships for many workers. i think the fact that we were able to make changes is a victory, yes, it doesn t repeal them outright, but it helps prevent some of many of our constituents. yeah, no, i agree with you. i speak to managers of businesses, this is one thing they keep mentioning as a reason they re not hiring anybody because they can t afford the benefits and the taxes around the affordable care. real quick on the immigration part of this, cong

called the clean power plan. setting a goal of cutting pollution by 32% by the year 2030. but the president warned that getting the plan past his critics is going to be tough. long before the details were even decided, the special interests and their allies in congress were mobilizing. we ve heard this before. every time america makes progress, it s been despite these kinds of claims. whenever america has set clear rules and standards for air, water, children s health, we get the same scary stories about killing jobs, businesses, and freedom. it s true. joining me now, former congressman bob engliss. he s now the director of the energy and enterprise
