holdouts on three of the 15 ballots and his nomination sparked a lot of conversation. to say it least. joining me now is congressman byron donalds. welcome to the show. thanks for coming down. i want to start by talking about, in the previous segment with congressman swalwell, we were talking about the changes that are happening in the house under this new leadership. three people including congressman swalwell, ilhan omar, and adam schiff have being taken off their committees. those who are being added, congressman santos is the one who made up his whole resume, allegedly in new york, paul gosar, whose family have said he s a white supremacist, he attended sort of meetings of white supremacy and got kicked off his committees because he tweeted out an an ame depicting him killing aoc, congresswoman alexandria ocasio-cortez. and marjorie green. they re getting back on committees. i wonder what you think of that? do you think that s a good look for the republican party?
now that there is a speaker and a set of rule, kevin mccarthy is making good on a promise he made two years ago. if you, democrats, kick our people off of committees, we are going to do the same to you. back in february, 2021, democrats and 11 republicans voted to remove marjorie taylor greene from her committee assignments for a laundry list of extreme views and conspiracy theories, including that jewish space lasers actually caused california wildfires, school shootings were staged and her liking social media comments that supported violence against democrat, including one that said a bullet to the head would be a quicker way of removing nancy pelosi. then, in november of that same year, 2021, democrats and two republicans voted to do the same to paul gosar for tweeting a violent animation that depicted
him killing aoc. now in january of 2023, two years later, with republicans back in control of the house, they are turning the table. promising to deny adam schiff, eric swalwell and ilhan omar their assignments. we ll tell you what they say those democrats have done to deserve it and what jeffries can do about it. but it s not just seat retribution. the republicans are gearing up to throw nearly all of the democrats investigations back in their face. there s a subcommittee to look into the quote weaponization of the federal government. expect jim jordan to tear into the fbi and doj and any perceived coordination between the feds and big tech and it s not just a rehash. the republicans now have fresh
petty retribution over things that have no effect on the lives of americans. congressman gosar is not a congress math. he exists only to lead, to be part of insurrections, to be part of mobs. howard: will, many conservative commentators say paul gosar s video was a joke, killing aoc, stabbing joe biden, used by democrats to punish a guy whose politics they don t like. liberal commentators say it was totally unacceptable, and that led to this party-line vote with two republicans joining the democrats. we have a real media divide here. by degree. by degree from what most everyone ooh i ve heard from, everyone agrees it was a juvenile, dumb video for gosar to post, the question is whether or not it is incitement to violence. and again, you know the word that everyone s had to become familiar with, howie? narrative.
