Killeen Mayor Pro Tem Debbie Nash-King invited residents to attend a community informational forum Monday night at Mr. Gattiâs Pizza in Killeen, and about a dozen people showed up to participate.
At 6 p.m., residents gathered at the restaurant, where city officials discussed road infrastructure and the cityâs budget process. Attendees also had the opportunity to provide their own feedback.
The hot topics of the night turned out to be roads and components of the budget that will be discussed in greater detail at the next council meeting July 6.
In addition to Nash-King, Killeen City Manager Kent Cagle, executive director of development services Tony Mcllwain and Public Works Director Jeffrey Reynolds were also in attendance.

Tony McIlwain, Killeenâs director of development services, and Jeffery Reynolds, director of public works, were both on hand talking potholes, the cityâs new comprehensive plan and opening up discussions about what to prioritize in the budget.
âWe only have one budget and that will only go so far,â Nash-King said. âI can make a decision for you, but you didnât vote me in to do that.â
She told the audience she will conduct these meetings every month in hopes of learning where residents want their tax dollars spent and to educate residents on the issues. The one of utmost importance to her right now is the comprehensive plan.
