The chances start tonight at 30% before increasing to thunderstorm chances up to 70% on Wednesday.
Through Sunday, chances of rain and thunderstorms will vary between 20% and 70%, according to the National Weather Service website.
The total rainfall totals since the beginning of the year in the Killeen-Fort Hood area is around 9.06 inches. In May, the area has seen about 5.38 inches of rain and 2.15 inches of that rain came over the last week, according to Patricia Sanchez, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
Sanchez said that rain this week will be mostly off and on, and the severe concerns will be heavy rain and possible flash flooding.
Members of the Central Texas community and senior leaders from Fort Hood met Tuesday to discuss challenges facing the Fort Hood community as well as celebrate the postâs contributions to the Central Texas community at large.
Lt. Gen. Pat White, commanding general of III Corps and Fort Hood, greeted the visitors at the III Corps Headquarters building before beginning the orientation. Of those in attendance, nearly a dozen had never been on the installation before.
âWeâve got a great history here on Fort Hood,â White said. âI hope everyone comes away from today with an appreciation for what makes this installation and this organization so special.â
Community leaders of all types were invited to Fort Hood Tuesday as part of efforts to improve community relations after a civilian review board found them to be lacking in that department.
