0 sex scandals ever. sure. now he s one of the most popular politicians around with about two-thirds of all americans approving of him. how much, if at all, then do you think getting caught in a scandal hurts politicians? it s a temporary hurt it seems. i think it is temporary. it depends on the scandal. i m hoping to get into a scandal to raise my visibility across the country. i m not sure which way it will be. bill clinton is back stronger than ever. you have the two politicians we ve talked about. even people in the midst of a scandal, rod blagojevich was on celebrity apprentice while under indictment, tom delay was on dancing with the stars. today you re famous, there s cash cache to that and it will get eyes to watch a tv show and buy books. there s a hyper reality show mentality we have. do you have any advice for someone trying to bounce back from a scandal? do you take time off and try and ease your way back in. yes. or like you said if you re famous you get ou
based on scientific theory that s not settled yet to me is just nonsense. i mean and i tell somebody i said just because you have a group of scientists that stood up and said here s the fact. galileo got outvoted for a spell. kiki, i m not exactly sure where he was going there. but i can tell you that the romney people were ecstatic about him sticking to his comments on social security. and they are really trying to capitalize on that today. here s the question everybody has. can this guy who appeals to his base clearly strongly to the base win the nomination, win a general election? well, look, he may win the nomination, but i think it s important that everybody who is going to vote in the general election watch these early debates. not just for republicans to watch because you need to see what these men and women are saying. and they are saying some extreme things. what was interesting last night was sort of the fact-checking they were doing on one another. on romney s job and
record, fact-checking from his own colleagues on the podium. turning around, fact-checking around things like science with climate change and with social security. so it s really important that people pay attention to what this group of candidates is saying. whether you re a democrat, independent, or republican. and if people in the republican party really want governor perry to be their nominee, then they ought to get in there and vote for him. if they think he s so extreme he shouldn t be, then the republicans who believe there s a future for this country based on real science and economics, they ought to get in the game and vote and engage. kiki made an important point there. and i think this is really important to the whole republican field, and that is, yes, this is a republican primary process, but the whole country is watching and so independent voters are watching, as well. they ve got the challenge of how do i win a primary? and, in fact, position myself well for the general
