For nearly three quarters of Tuesdayâs Image Pro Holiday Classic championship, Bryan and Pauldingâs girls basketball teams were nip and tuck.
A couple free throws and easy scores off inbounds plays late in the third, though, sparked an enormous finish for the Golden Bears.
Bryan went on a 20-2 run over the final nine minutes to remain unbeaten and win its second-straight Holiday Classic title with a 56-36 victory over the Panthers at Bryan High School.
âCredit to our kids, they hung with playing defense, we got stops,â Bryan coach Todd Grosjean said. âThe first half we had trouble keeping them in front of us, we were maybe overextended trying to pressure them.
