A huge recall has been issued for Kidde TruSense smoke and carbon monoxide alarms due to the fact that it is failing to provide alerts. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, over 225,000 of these alarms are out there and could possibly be in homes in Minnesota,Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois.

The recalled units are Kidde Model Series 2040, 2050, 2060 and 2070 Smoke and Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide alarms.

WASHINGTON The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of more than 200,000 Kidde TruSense smoke alarms and combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms due to a defect that could cause them to fail to alert consumers to a fire.
The recall involves an estimated 226,000 units, the CPSC said.
The affected units are Kidde Model Series 2040, 2050, 2060, and 2070 Smoke and Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide alarms, according to the CPSC.
Only alarms with the TruSense logo or “AMBER=FAULT” printed on the front of the alarm are included in the recall, the CPSC said.
The model number is printed on the back of the alarm.

One of the bigger companies that make smoke and carbon monoxide alarms have announced a major recall of their detectors and are warning that affected alarms may fail to alert in the event of a fire.
