The Nassau County Police officers who stopped a gun-toting suspect in the middle of the street this summer were honored for their heroism by the county on Monday.
A scary scene unfolded last week in North Bellmore, when the Nassau County Police Department received several 911 calls on Aug. 15, reporting a woman firing a black handgun into the air near the busy intersection of Jerusalem and Bellmore avenues.
Nassau County prosecutors had asked District Court Judge William Hohauser to order Kiber Calderon to be held on $200,000 bail, according to Nicole Turso, a spokeswoman for Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly.
"The Five" panel sounded off on the resignation of an entire Minnesota police force over low pay and morale, as well as a New York officer striking an allegedly disturbed woman.
