A number of bars and restaurants around DC decided to temporarily close their doors or go into “hibernation” during the pandemic. But now, with warm weather, vaccinations, and the loosening of Covid capacity restrictions and regulations, many are reopening (though some are still limiting seating and/or keeping mask policies). Here’s a running list of newly opened spots, including some restaurants that are offering dine-in for the first time in months.

This past year hasn’t been ideal for most of us students. Our inability to live on campus has kept us from an aspect of college life synonymous with attending a university, but we’re coming back this fall!
During your summer, and in anticipation of acquiring housing in Chico next semester, I implore you to consider how to readjust from the past year which somehow felt like five regarding health. More specifically, how one adequately provides sustenance for themselves in respect to a kitchen that’s high-speed and low-drag: Fully, but minimally, ready for whatever you want to make.
This fall, we will be asked to decide whether or not to retain Gavin Newsom as our governor. As Republicans across the country decry the unfairness of cancel culture, they demand the cancelling of voting rights, transgender rights, and here in California, the duly elected leader of our state.
I believe it’s our duty to learn as much about this process as possible, but more importantly, the reasoning behind this conservative effort to usurp executive power.
Keep in mind that California has only had one successful recall of a governor. In 2003, Governor Gray Davis was recalled, and Californians elected Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in his stead.
Ingredients:
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut butterfly-style (see note) and pounded to ½ inch thickness (see note)
Salt, pepper and paprika to season
All-purpose flour for dredging, about ½ cup
2-3 tablespoons of oil I used coconut oil because it’s healthier
2 tablespoons of capers, drained
1 cup of dry white wine
½ cup of fresh lemon juice
½ cup of water
3 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley
Lemon for squeezing
Procedure
Start by determining your side dish. I used pasta, but rice, couscous or veggie noodles are all acceptable; you’ll have to work around your side dish as you prepare and cook the chicken and sauce.
