KOHIMA The joint secretary of Ura Academy, Kikruneinuo Liezietsu, on Thursday stated that mother tongue and multilingualism under NEP 2020 would bring in more prospects to the language perpetuation. She stated this while delivering the keynote address on day-two of the ongoing Ura Academy (UA) 53rd Tenyidie seminar for Tenyidie teachers at Ura Academy Hall, Mission Compound in Kohima. She highlighted a brief history of the Tenyidie language and how it evolved from 1939 when JE Tanquist formed the Angami Literature Board and eventually developed. She stated that many students and scholars have already received Ph.D in Tenyidie under the Nagaland University. Stating that teachers need to be updated and refreshed, she stated that orientation programmes such as this for the teacher would empower language teachers.
